Palmetto - Palmetto is a native St. Augustine cultivar selected for better color and finer texture. Palmetto St. Augustine demonstrates superior shade, cold, frost, heat, and drought tolerance. Better than most St. Augustine grasses, Palmetto Grass holds its dark green color in sun as well as shady conditions. It has a dense, moderately course blade which is very tolerant to traffic. Palmetto establishes itself quickly but tends to have slower vertical growth which reduces the frequency of mowing. This versatile turfgrass is used across the southern United States from the Carolinas to California under a wide range of climate and soil conditions making it a good choice for both residential and commercial use. |
